In Europe more than 5.5 million young people are jobless or facing very precarious working conditions. In my country, Bulgaria, the youth unemployment rate is a worrying 30%, but in countries as Spain and Greece as many as one out of two young people cannot find a job.

V zadnjem tednu maja sem obiskala dva dogodka, namenjena mladim. V ponedeljek, 28. maja, sem se v Medvodah udeležila okrogle mize Socialnih demokratov z naslovom EU in mladi, v četrtek, 31. maja, pa predstavitve projekta Strukturiran dialog  mladih v Mariboru, ki sta ga organizirala Mladinski svet Slovenije in Mladinska mreža MaMa.

The PES Youth Unemployment Working Group met on 19 June to develop more detailed positions on introducing youth guarantees. The working group members elaborated and approved the guide on introducing youth guarantees. This background document presents the existing youth guarantees in more detail and proposes concrete steps to introduce youth guarantees throughout Europe. Concrete policies for the four pillars of youth guarantees are proposed: creating new and decent jobs for young people, reforming vocational training systems, strengthening active labour market policies and improving the education system. Working group members also underlined that it is not possible for countries in economic difficulties, to introduce youth guarantees without European financial support.

La Joventut Socialista de Catalunya s’uneix a la campanya llançada per l'ECOSY i el Partit Socialista Europeu (PES) per fer front a la xifra de més de 5,5 milions de joves aturats que trobem a Europa.

“Als je afstudeert is het niet altijd makkelijk om een job te vinden, omdat je geen werkervaring hebt”, zegt Monica De Coninck. Om uit die vicieuze cirkel te raken wil ze vanaf 2013 voor 10.000 stageplaatsen voor jongeren zorgen. Daarnaast voorziet ze grote lastenverlagingen voor de aanwerving van laaggeschoolde jongeren en oudere werknemers, en een fonds voor de betaling van brugpensioenen.

Over 250 young Europeans from all 27 member states have spent two days discussing youth unemployment in the European Parliament, in a conference organised by the Group of the Socialists and Democrats.

The participants drafted an appeal to heads of state and to the European Commission, including 15 points they want to send to political leaders on how to give hope back to young Europeans and create job opportunities for all.

Las Juventudes Socialistas de España (JSE) se han unido a la campaña “Tu futuro es mi futuro – una Garantía Europea para los jóvenes ya”, la iniciativa organizada por el Partido Socialista Europeo (PSE) que asegura que los jóvenes puedan acceder a un puesto de trabajo o de formación en un máximo de cuatro meses. El apoyo se ha extendido por todo el territorio nacional, desde la comunidad de Castilla y León hasta Gran Canaria, y desde Salamanca hasta la ciudad autónoma de Ceuta.

A día de hoy, más de 5,5 millones de jóvenes europeos se encuentran sin empleo. El paro juvenil español se sitúa a la cabeza de Europa.
