During the last year the average youth unemployment rate in Finland was 19.9%.

As part of the campaign "Your future is my future - a European Youth Guarantee" the Social Democratic Party of Finland has launched a national campaign to promote a youth guarantee.

The Finnish Government is also developping a pilot programme on a Training Guarantee, which aims at encouraging young people that finish compulsory school to pursue further education. While providing equal opportunities for everyone, the training guarantee is a key policy to prevent unemployment and social exclusion among the youth.
